Gloves, scarves, boots, and coats can be coordinated and styled in a way that will produce captivating images! Wear timeless pieces like sweaters, peacoats, and knitted sweaters that will keep you feeling warm, classy, and attractive!

Many photographers ask families and couples to arrange for their outfits to include similar color schemes or patterns. Just know that this isn’t essential for gorgeous pictures as long as everyone is on the same level of dressed up. For example, you wouldn’t want your son to wear athletic clothes with prominent Nike branding while your spouse and his sisters are dressed to the nines. That would throw off the vibe of the pictures.

If you are the planning type, you can even pack pocket warmers for your family and even the photographer. You’ll get better quality images if you aren’t distracted by the cold and worried about your fingers getting frostbite. If you want to do one better, you could even make a pit stop before the photoshoot for hot chocolate and coffee. 

The coffee cups can have the dual purpose of serving as props for your photos. As you and your family are sipping hot cocoa, the photographer can snap some candid pictures. You may be surprised by how much a coffee cup can elevate a picture!

Take Winter Photography Indoors

Is it frigid, wet, and dreary outside, but you are still determined to make it through a winter photoshoot? That’s okay! There are a variety of ways in which you can still have the winter photoshoot of your dreams while keeping your toes warm.

Head to your favorite coffee shop for some uniquely cozy photography opportunities! With their dim mood lighting, comfy chairs, and vintage decor, coffee shops naturally have an atmosphere that works well with photography.

As an idea, you can sit close to a window where your photographer can capture images of you next to the snowy outdoor landscape. Fireplaces, brick walls, and Christmas lights are all great backdrops for indoor seasonal photographs. 

Keep Your Session Fun

Keep your spouse and family moving and happy by maintaining a light-hearted photoshoot session! If there is snow on the ground, tossing it at each other and into the air can make for whimsical and magical images.
